I have been with this practice for 48 years. Over that time it has grown and developed over the years in a positive way.
The range of services on offer is growing and having minor surgical procedures undertaken is so much better than having to go to hospital.
As a family we have had excellent care over the years. I have always been able to see a doctor should I need one. I may not have had a choice of who I saw but if you’re ill you it’s a doctor you need and should’ve expect to choose a specific doctor.
Trying to get through on phone is problematic. Told to ring after 9.30 for prescription renewals etc, which I do but often engaged then after after 11 you cant get through as gps making phone appointments, then you try at 12 to be told to ring after 2.30!! then you cant get through because phone constantly engaged! Seems a bit daft to have no one answering phones between 12 and 2.30, when most people have lunch breaks and have time to ring surgery.
The whole practice is really great from first contact usually by phone, to actually seeing the doctor. All the staff are friendly and helpful and there is no feeling at of "them and us". I have found the doctors to be extremely caring and willing to go the extra mile to help. The surgery is clean and bright and I tell everyone who will listen, how good the practice is.
The care received from the medical staff is excellent, no problems there.
In the years I have been registered I have found the management of the surgery very poor i.e. prescriptions not being ready or missing. Also there does not seem to be a practice of good people skills in relation to the patients condition(s) when there are problems.
Reception staff are really pleasant and whilst it may seem intrusive to some, I fully appreciate they need to question your needs for an appointment, once I explained it was urgent, I was offered an appointment the very next day, exceptional service.
